The Department of Health’s policy is to
allow general practices to commission services for the needs
of their local community and population. This practice-based-commissioning
(PBC) has huge potential to transform practices and services
for patients, but many find it daunting. Furthermore, general
practices are encouraged to work together to achieve large scale
health gains through commissioning. Practices prefer to remain
independent and avoid too many organisational meetings, which
means that they may be missing out on the opportunities from
economies of scale.
Smart Management Support makes painless PBC possible. We are
an independent agency separate from the Primary Care Trusts
and accountable to the practices who engage us to support them
in all aspects of PBC. We support the excellent management already
in place in practices and can co-ordinate the activities of
those independent practices who choose to work together without
formal ties.
Smart Management Support also offers project management services
to turn your brilliant ideas into reality. Specialties include
primary care, integrated nursing teams, health and social care
joint working, community involvement, patient access to records,
Patient Choice, Living Well,
and Choose & Book. |
